Zodiac signs tattoo ideas: three styles

• Glyph: the compact symbol (♈ ♉ ♊…). Works small, on fingers, wrists or behind the ear.
• Constellation: the star pattern of the sign’s constellation. Use a real star chart so the pattern is correct; see our constellation charts.
• Emblem: the ram, bull, crab and so on, often combined with the sign’s colors or birth flowers.

Combined, multiple and family zodiac signs tattoos

Combined or intertwined designs merge two or more glyphs into one mark, often for a couple, a parent and child, or a whole family. Common approaches: overlapping two glyphs on a shared baseline, linking them with a single continuous line, placing each family member’s glyph around a circle like a small zodiac wheel, or joining two constellations with one connecting star. Placement ideas from tradition

Some people place the tattoo on the body area their sign traditionally rules: the head or temple for Aries, the neck for Taurus, arms and hands for Gemini, the chest for Cancer, the back for Leo, the torso for Virgo, the lower back for Libra, the hips for Scorpio and Sagittarius, the knees for Capricorn, the ankles or calves for Aquarius and the feet for Pisces. • Check that a constellation matches a real sky chart: many online designs mirror or invent stars.
• On phones, zodiac characters can appear as colorful emoji. Send the SVG file to your artist instead.
• Very fine lines can blur over time; ask your artist about minimum line spacing.
