Where zodiac stones come from
Linking gems with the zodiac goes back to ancient commentators on the twelve stones of the High Priest’s breastplate (Exodus 28) and of the foundations of the New Jerusalem (Revelation 21). Later writers matched the twelve stones with the twelve signs or months in different ways, which is why no single zodiac-stone list exists. Modern crystal books add further associations based on color and element.
Crystals for zodiac signs: choosing a stone
If you want a zodiac stone, the month birthstone is the most widely recognized choice. For a sign-based stone, many people choose by the sign’s color or element.
Frequently asked questions

What crystals are good for each zodiac sign?
Crystal-healing books list stones such as rose quartz for Taurus and amethyst for Pisces. These are modern associations; there is no evidence that crystals have healing effects.
